Promoting and strengthening the artistic and cultural development of Orange County, North Carolina
Where is home? What do you love about it? What if you had to leave your home and move to another country? In this generative workshop, we’ll write about homes we love, past or present, then turn our attention to the theme of immigration, exploring the work of poets who write about what it’s like to lose a home due to violence, poverty, or the desire for better lives for their children. Through a series of prompts, we’ll imagine what our lives would be like if forced to leave our own beloved homes. The workshop is free and open to the public; writers working at all levels and in other genres are welcome. Please register on-line at https://bit.ly/ocplwriting or at 919-245-2536. This program is supported by the Orange County Arts Commission.
