Vitamin O: Morgan Moylan

By Alicia Stemper/Vitamin O

Morgan Moylan grew up obsessed with color and texture. She expresses those fascinations through flowers. With an undergraduate degree, experience in corporate America, and an associate’s degree from the North Carolina State Agricultural Institute, Morgan had the necessary components for what she calls “the dream gig.” With four children, and a husband she calls “the loving supporter of all things Morgan,” she now runs West Queen Studio in Hillsborough, a stunning event space where she teaches flower arranging and team building. “Wallflowers, wild flowers, and mind blowing all welcome.” Creating floral jewelry is an increasingly popular offering, especially with young people. Morgan also designs floral installations for events – “anytime someone needs something a little different.”

Morgan’s husband, “the king of salvage,” surprised her with the West Queen Studio space several years ago. She expected a garage with some shelves; instead, she has a repurposed hardware store relocated from upstate New York. She also has the “Room of Requirement,” a special space named after a room in Hogwarts which magically provides whatever one needs. Morgan calls it all “a ridiculously incredible opportunity” and notes, “I am most thankful for my village.”
