Class description: The class will be set up into two separate workshops that run on consecutive Saturday’s. The in person workshops will be 3 hrs long and a model / human subject and concept to photograph will be provided. During the week there will be daily assignments that continue to teach the concepts learned in class and expand on the techniques. It is imperative for this workshop that you have access to children or adults so that you have subjects to photograph.

Editing Tutorial on ZOOM – Mid Week – Wednesday Zoom – I will be doing a live editing demo using Adobe Lightroom.

There will be a Facebook Group to join as Art Center Live Participants so that you can easily communicate with me and the class. Group members can share images in a safe place and get encouraging feed back to help them grow as an artist.Photographers will experience an actual portrait session in each workshop. They will learn methods that allow them to explore their personal portrait voice. They will have more clarity on the kinds of images they want to create and how to plan and execute a portrait project.

Maximum enrollment: 8

Materials needed: DSLR & Lenses. 50mm 1.8, 85mm, 35 mm or 24mm, Lensbaby lens – 2 out of 5 would be great. A normal lens like the 50 and a wide like the 24 or 35. I will be teaching a technique called Free Lensing, this technique can not be used on a mirrorless camera.

Materials provided by: Instructor will collect materials and make them available for students; students will be required to bring a materials fee to the first class to reimburse the instructor

All ArtSchool Classes are for 15 and up unless otherwise specified.

ArtSchool Class Enrollment Policy

Classes that do not meet the minimum enrollment within 3 business days of their start will be cancelled, and any purchased tuition will be fully refunded.

Exchange and Cancellation Policy

You may request a full refund up to 5 business days prior to the start date of your course. You may request a transfer of your enrollment up to 5 business days prior to the start date of your course. We do not process requested refunds or transfers within 5 business days of the start of a class, nor after the class has begun.

ArtSchool scholarships are given out on a semester-by-semester basis. Please fill out our online application here.

You may also download a copy (English) (Espanol) to print and fill out. Please submit these to the Box Office in an envelope addressed to ArtSchool Manager Anna Hewett.
