Solstice Lantern Making Workshop

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: Participants for Hillsborough’s annual Solstice Lantern Walk are asked to craft a handmade lantern before the event and join at Hillsborough’s Farmers Market Pavilion (144 E Margaret Ln) on the darkest night of the year. Lantern kits are currently on sale at the Hillsborough Arts Council’s Gallery & Gift Shop, and HAC will be hosting several lantern-making workshops in lead up to the event. For those looking for a more intensive lantern building experience, we invite you to register for a special workshop on Saturday, December 17 at the Eno Arts Mill. Whether you’ve already started your lantern build or need support bringing an idea to life, join us in dedicating a few hours to custom lanterns, just in time for the walk!

ABOUT THE WALK: Solstice Lantern Walk is an annual, winter-themed event, celebrating creativity and community. For Hillsborough, NC, it’s become a tradition to gather and usher in the colder, darker months together. This year, Solstice Lantern Walk features a NEW Solstice Market. The event occurs on the night of the Winter Solstice, Wednesday, December 21st.
