Castles! Lampshades! Miniature Animals! What do these three things have in common? They can all be sculpted out of paper, paper mache paste, and tagboard. In this class, we will learn the basics of paper sculpture – how to join tag board with slot joints, how to create your own paper mache paste, and various techniques for applying color to a paper surface.
This will be a two week long class, of which the first week will be focused on technical demos with short projects, and the second focused on two larger projects. Be prepared to make a small mess, paper mache can get a little sticky, but it is easy to clean up and a joy to work with.
-Tagboard (the material that cereal boxes are made of)
