Promoting and strengthening the artistic and cultural development of Orange County, North Carolina
What do an immigrant, an unhoused person, an essential worker and a child in her unstudied wisdom have in common? Their voices are rarely heard center stage, though their humanity calls to our own.
GRAMMY-nominated storyteller Milbre Burch shares these characters’ stories along with family history and personal tales in a series of FREE performances of her one-woman show, Myth America. The series is supported by the Orange County Arts Commission at venues throughout the county.
On Saturday, November 9th at 2 pm, Burch will perform the 65-minute show as a FREE community-building event at the Century Center, 100 N. Greensboro Street in Carrboro.
Betsy Sheppard and Joan Garnett, two volunteers from the organization Braver Angels will emcee and lead a post-show conversation. Braver Angels strives to bring Americans together to bridge the partisan divide and strengthen our democratic republic.
Parking is available at various municipal lots in Carrboro.
