Last Friday Art Walk in Hillsborough

Last Fridays & the Art Walk offer a compelling variety of fresh, monthly programming and opportunities to connect with visual arts, live music, dance, poetry/spoken word, local history, and more in a creative and empowering environment. Last Fridays are free, open to the public, and focused around HAC’s mission of ensuring the arts, and opportunities for local artists, are accessible in our community.

Last Fridays Makers Markets on the Old Orange County Courthouse lawn (104 E King St. Hillsborough, NC) May – October 2022. Find local, artist vendors offering original, handmade work along with a limited number of community groups/local nonprofits sharing good works and activities with the community. Last Fridays Makers Markets will continue through October 2022 to feature a variety of new artists, community groups, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities and crafts.

Rotating visual art exhibitions, showcases, and performances, as well as a variety of live music and other exciting entertainment on the Art Walk from 18+ participating venues, including: Thomas Stevens Gallery, Hillsborough Artists Cooperative & the Skylight Gallery, Margaret Lane Gallery, Yonder: Southern Cocktail & Brew, Hillsborough Gallery of Arts, Orange County Historical Museum, and many more.

Poetry, prose, and spoken word – Each month, the Last Fridays Poetry “Prose” Showcase features a variety of inspired poets and spoken word artists. The showcase stops at 2-4 Art Walk venues throughout the night to share words and heart with the community. The goal of this program is to: provide a platform for established poets to share their work; amplify the power of language to paint, electrify, and bridge worlds; empower new poets still nurturing the courage to share their self-expression; and cultivate a community for the future of HAC’s poetry program, which aims to offer workshops and other resources for emerging artists.

Community drumming, dancewaves, and more with the Living Arts Collective (LAC) in Hillsborough’s River Park. LAC brings a variety of experiences to Last Fridays each month, offering an incredible opportunity to connect and express yourself within an open, multi-generational, community space. All ages and experience levels are welcome.
