Bio: Music Discovery Lab was developed by Jason Mullinax, a teacher, percussionist, songwriter and videographer with over 30 years of drumming and performance experience. Jason formerly started Music Discovery Lab in the Washington, DC region in 2015 but has been performing since he was 12 years old, debuting in (and winning) the talent show at Fort Mill Middle School in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Since that illustrious entrance into the world of music, he has performed widely in the southeast and mid-Atlantic regions, written soundtracks for documentary films and has produced and recorded original music on his own record label. In 2021, Jason re-located to North Carolina’s Triangle area in Carrboro. When he’s not tapping on everything in his house to see what sound it makes, he enjoys cooking, traveling, playing video games, frequenting thrift stores, binging on Netflix and hanging out with his family.
