The exhibit will be on view at the Eno Arts Mill Gallery through the end of August. The public is invited to visit the exhibit Tuesday-Saturday, 12-5pm.
INSIGHT is defined as the act of apprehending the inner nature of things or of seeing intuitively to gain a deep understanding of a person or object. It allows the art-making process to reveal what is unconscious conscious through layers of images and patterns that create a visual story. In this exhibit, each artist shares a different focus of their intuitive practices including composing sculptural forms using digitally altered photographs that question what one identifies as reality, creating abstract line art using textiles and stitching that celebrate resilience and perseverance, and constructing three-dimensional paper weavings that invite the viewer to look deeply at the layers that speak of a history of depression, healing, and strength. The artists invite the viewers to look deeply at what is revealed and what remains hidden between the margins within their works.
