Learn about the Warli tribal art from the state of Maharashtra in India. Warli paintings have a basic graphic vocabulary of circles, triangles, and squares, which become building blocks for this art form, almost unchanged through the ages. With brown mud backgrounds and drawings in white, the paintings bring an element of freshness to the day-to-day events that they symbolize. We will discuss art compositions and each participant will create their own art story visually. Create your very own artwork to take home on a recycled paper bag. We will start drawing on white paper with black pen and then move to painting on a dark background with white paint (if time allows).
All skill levels are appropriate . No previous art experience is required.
