Vitamin O: Jay Ladd

Jay Ladd and his husband live in a late 1800’s farmhouse in Cedar Grove.  Jay feels the county mascot should be the carpenter bee, perhaps because his home was built with wood from the property!  Jay is the fifth generation owner of J.E. Ladd and Sons moving company, founded in 1882. He never met his great-great-grandfather, but he feels a connection to him now that he and his brother-in-law own and manage the company.  Jay is also a musician; he plays a square grand piano also built in the late 1800’s that he bought off Craig’s list. “It feels linear,” he said, regarding the era so prominently represented in his life.
