Heather Shores found Peccadillo a week after it opened and instantly loved it. She showed up every single day for four months before convincing the owner to hire her. “Do you really want me to explain the magic? It is all the details. We pay attention so you don’t have to.” Lighting, music, the way drinks are made and no television – these things give customers the feeling of being transported. “We were never meant to be a cocktail bar, but that’s what people wanted…we had to adapt.” Heather moved here from Vermont. Eastern NC barbeque from Allen and Sons on Old 86 was her first meal. Sunday is her favorite day in Orange County. “You never feel guilty if you just lay around on the back porch and do nothing.”
