An Orange County native, Donna Bradley learned to cook from her grandmother. They grew much of their own food; thus Donna learned from an early age to start with what was on hand. This proved to be excellent training as Donna is now the Community Kitchen Manager for the Inter Faith Council. She never knows what food will be donated, how many volunteers will show up, or how many people will need to be fed. “You need to figure out what you’ve got and how you can make it work.” Donna focuses on making meals healthy and tasty. “I care about the quality of the meals they are served and they know it.” Once asked if she was afraid of her clientele, Donna replied, “No. Why should I be? I have very few problems up here. In fact, it is more likely that people will come to me for help with a problem than cause me one.” Donna attended Orange County schools during integration; the most valuable lesson she learned? “I learned to accept everybody for who they are.”
