As a kid, Aaron Butner once lived across from a cemetery; he later lived above a funeral home. He would tell his friends, “People are dying to come to my house” but they declined sleepovers. Aaron roamed everywhere. “I was doing Riverwalk before Riverwalk was Riverwalk.” His Paw Paw used to give him rides on the Zamboni at the old ice rink in Daniel Boone Village. “It was not that long ago, but it was a different time.” After living out of state, Aaron, now a vice president at BB&T, moved back to Hillsborough with his family.” “I came back to what I knew.” Aaron is “stoked” about Hog Day: “There is something about sweating through your T-shirt while eating a greasy BBQ sandwich and listening to a guy impersonate Elvis.”
