Orange County Artist Relief Grant Program
Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Orange County Arts Alliance will soon begin distributing over $100,000 in support grants to artists residing or working in Orange County, NC, who were impacted by Tropical Storm Chantal. Artists working in craft/traditional arts, design, literary, media/film, performing, visual, and interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary arts may apply for a grant to help with replacement costs of supplies, equipment, or other belongings lost or damaged due to the storm.
Grant FAQ’s:
- Who is eligible?
- This opportunity is open to professional artists 18 years or older whose artistic practice generates any portion of their income.
- This recovery grant is for individual artists only.
- Artists must live or work in Orange County.
- I had a studio in Orange County but live in another county. Am I eligible?
- Yes.
- How much will the grants be?

Funding amounts will be determined based on response and need.

- Do I have to show proof of my losses?

The application request photos of the damages/losses. If photos are not available, written documentation of losses may be required.

- How much money are you granting?

Current funds available: approximately $112,000

- Who will make the funding decisions?

A small group of Orange County Arts Alliance board members and several outside community members. All applicant information is confidential.

- Doesn’t the Arts Commission/Arts Alliance need this funding to rebuild the Eno Arts Mill?
- No. Thankfully, the Arts Commission is part of Orange County Government who has committed to financially supporting the rebuild of the Eno Arts Mill. This means our privately raised funds can support our impacted community members. Donations are still being accepted. Click here to see how you can help.
