OCAC Announced 2019/20 Arts Grants Recipients


The Orange County Arts Commission (OCAC) is pleased to announce recipients of the 2019-20 Grassroots Arts Program and Artist Project Grants. The OCAC awarded forty-three grants to sixteen artists, fifteen nonprofit organizations, and twelve schools, totaling $60,503.

2019-20 Grassroots Art Program Grant Recipients

  • Ackland Art Museum: Two Art & public artist programs by artist collective Intergalactic Soul
  • Carrboro Elementary School: Cultural Arts Programming
  • Cedar Ridge High School for Orange County Public Schools: Hip Hop and Jazz Ensemble The Beast Performance at Cultural Explosion
  • Cedar Ridge High School: Darkroom project
  • Chapel Hill Philharmonia: Annual Children’s Free Concert
  • Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public Schools Foundation: For Kids by Kids, Mariposa book project; Chapel Hill High School Hip Hop Team; Scroggs Elementary School Community Mural Project
  • Chelsea Theater: Operating support
  • CW Stanford Drama Club: Drama Club Director funding

OCAC Arts Grants are annually funded by the North Carolina Arts Council, a department of the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, and the Orange County Board of County Commissioners.
