More than fifty artists from four states will participate in the 3rd Annual Paint it Orange Plein Air Paint-out and Wet Paint Sale, taking place September 25-27, 2019 throughout Orange County.
Artists will spend three days painting en plein air, or in open air, and will submit two finished paintings to be featured in the exhibition, juried for prizes, and be available for sale. The Wet Paint Sale will open on Friday, September 27th at 6PM at C3 Hillsborough and will feature more than 100 works of art showcasing both rural and urban landscapes and sites. This special reception will bring the annual plein air paint out to a close, and announce this year’s winners selected by Linda Dougherty, Chief Curator and Curator of Contemporary Arts at the North Carolina Museum of Art. The work will remain on exhibit through November.
The Wet Paint Sale is a special opportunity to own a piece of fine art depicting favorite locations throughout Orange County by locally and regionally renowned artists. All works will be no larger than 18″ x 22” and will be original works of art including oil, acrylic, watercolor and other painting media. Works will be individually priced by the artists and ready to take home from the reception or anytime during the exhibition.
Paint it Orange is a collaborative event presented by the Hillsborough Arts Council, the Orange County Arts Commission, and presenting sponsor Application Architects.
