Call for Submissions
The Orange County Arts Commission and Orange County Arts Alliance present Focal Point: Orange, a photography exhibit at the Eno Arts Mill during July, 2025. The exhibition will open at the Eno Arts Mill Gallery Friday, July 4, 2025.
Photographers are invited to submit works showcasing the spirit of Orange County, NC. This can include people, places, or themes unique to the communities within Orange County.
The selection team will include professional photographers who will evaluate submissions based on the following criteria: Interpretation & clarity of theme to the viewer; Creativity and originality of depicted theme; Quality and overall design; and overall impression.
Artists are invited to the exhibit opening Friday, July 4th, at the Eno Arts Mill in Hillsborough. Selected works will be on view and for sale through the end of July. Accepted artists will receive a discount for printing services at Peel Gallery and Photo Lab in Carrboro, and framing services at Yesterday and Today Frame Shop in Hillsborough.

All submissions are due by Sunday, May 11, 11:59pm.

All submissions must be received through the online application portal.

Open to photographers of all levels currently living in Orange, Durham, Wake, Chatham, Caswell, Person, and Alamance counties.

Photographers may submit up to three works for the exhibit. For each work, the title, size, medium, year, edition, price, and statement is required. Images should be a minimum 300 resolution.

Works on paper and canvases less than 1″ thick must be properly framed and wired (no sawtooth hangers).

Work must not be larger than 24” in any direction including frame.

All work must be for sale.

WORK SOLD: For all work sold, the Orange County Arts Alliance (on behalf of the Orange County Arts Commission) will retain a 40% commission. The OCAA will collect all monies from the sale of artwork, including tax, through the end of July. Artists will receive payment through the online payment processor Melio by August 31.

UNSOLD WORK: Artists may donate unsold artwork to the OCAA or pick up their work Monday, July 28th, 12-7pm. After 90 days, remaining work will become property of the OCAA.

Artists agree to allow the OCAC/OCAA use of images of artwork for promotional purposes (credit will be given).

There is no fee to apply.

This is a blind selection process and all identifying information will be hidden.
