Promoting and strengthening the artistic and cultural development of Orange County, North Carolina
Marking the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in this country, WVC’s spring concert will celebrate strong women, past, present, and future. The chorus will sing the words of American poets such as the incomparable Maya Angelou, with music by contemporary American composers including Sweet Honey in the Rock’s Ysaye Barnwell. Featuring the world premiere of “There Is Only Time to Love,” a heart warming work by Michael Bussewitz-Quarm, sung with the Capital City Girls Choir Chorale in English and Odawa, an Ojibwe dialect.
