Release from Within, an Art Journaling Workshop for High School Students

Release From Within is an introduction into art journaling using mixed media and a variety of techniques. Participants will discover the benefits of journaling and create their own journal using the Japanese Stab binding technique.

By the end of class, participants will have a 10-page 9×12 journal with at least one completed page inside. They will have acquired experience using different methods of applying paint, creating texture and simple collage.

They will also have gained the confidence and freedom to write (and create) without fear. This opens the door for future exploration within their journals to continue to express themselves visually. Lastly, they will have fun!

Choose from four sessions. Each session meets for two days, 2 hours per day for a total of 4 hours.
