For the aspiring animator tween … A series of practical, imaginative workshops presented in 6-week sessions in the Fall and Spring, RATS aspires to facilitate a basic understanding of traditional and digital art.
In preparation for the Spring “Rats II” digital animation session, this Fall’s “RATS I” focuses on basic drawing skills with a variety of media in order to begin storyboarding ideas. In Spring’s RATS II, we’ll begin to explore digital animation with Adobe Fresco on your iPad.
Now accepting registrations for “RATS I” Basic drawing on paper
Week 1: Basic shapes and shading with pencil
Week 2: How to combine basic shapes into a creature, from life or fantasy
Week 3: How to draw a landscape with watercolor pencils
Week 4: Perspective while drawing a fantasy city, inking in your pencil drawing
Week 5: Some dynamic poses while inventing your own character and inking it in
Week 6: How to create a storyboard with your character, preliminary for digital animation
Create: Grow your portfolio with a finished drawing each week.
For the serious art-minded tween, ages 9 – 13
6 Saturdays, September 16 through October 21, 1:00-3:00 pm

$330 for the series (required supplies Amazon Basics drawing set, Sakura assorted Manga pens, 11×17 white Strathmore Smooth*Bristol Drawing pad; all other supplies provided)
