PANEL DISCUSSION, Photographer Sia Yazdanfar & Professor Ahmed Fadaam

March 3, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Sia Yazdanfar is a freelance photographer, who was born and raised in Iran. Capturing some of the lesser-known parts of the Middle East, Sia hopes to dispel preconceived ideas of life seldom shared with a western audience by sharing photographs and stories of a misunderstood side of our planet.

Ahmed Fadaam is an artist, journalist, and professor of communications at Elon, born and raised in Iraq. He has led discussions inquiring on topics of arts importance as a form of expression, about how art may serve as a mirror for society, and how political, economic, and social changes can impact the work of artists.

Ahmed and Sia will discuss where their experiences overlap and where they diverge, what preconceived notions about their cultures they have overcome, their intentions with their art and more. Audience members will be given the opportunity to ask questions as well.

Event is free to attend but registration is required.
