Promoting and strengthening the artistic and cultural development of Orange County, North Carolina
What do an immigrant, an unhoused person, an essential worker and a child in her unstudied wisdom have in common? Their voices are rarely heard center stage, though their humanity calls to our own.
GRAMMY-nominated storyteller Milbre Burch shares these characters’ stories along with family history and personal tales in a series of FREE performances of her one-woman show, Myth America. The series is supported by the Orange County Arts Commission at venues throughout the county.
On Friday, November 1st at 7 pm, Burch will perform the 65-minute show as a FREE Get-Out-the-Vote event at the Hargraves Community Center, 216 N. Roberson in the historic Northside neighborhood of Chapel Hill.
A Past President of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP, community activist Eugene Farrar will emcee and lead a post-show conversation. Light refreshments will be served.
Parking is available on either side of the Center with another lot just beyond the playing field.
