Promoting and strengthening the artistic and cultural development of Orange County, North Carolina
What do an Irish immigrant, an unhoused person, an essential worker and a child in her unstudied wisdom have in common? Their humanity calls to our own.
This free storytelling performance for adult audiences is a retrospective show for our times, comprised of three original dramatic monologues written across Milbre Burch’s nearly-fifty-year career alongside family history and a personal story. Drawing on a “crazy quilt” of American experience, Burch places several unexpected voices at center stage.
This show on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024 at 6:30 pm at the Chapel Hill Public Library, 100 Library Drive in Chapel Hill, will include a voter registration drive assisted by Orange Durham Chatham County Branch of the League of Women Voters. So bring your family, friends and first-time voting teenagers who still need to register to this event.
Following Burch’s performance, Dr. Sonny Kelly, storyteller and speaker extraordinaire, will lead a community conversation with the artist and the audience.
