Promoting and strengthening the artistic and cultural development of Orange County, North Carolina
MOTHERLOAD is a crowd-sourced documentary film about cargo bikes and how they can make our world a better place.
This movie follows a new mother’s journey to discover an escape from the confines of an automobile, and to find a cleaner, more sustainable form of transportation.
Liz’s experiences as a cyclist, as a mother, and in discovering the cargo bike world, teach her that sustainability is not necessarily about compromise and sacrifice, and that there are few things more empowering in an age of consumption than the ability to create everything from what seems to be nothing.
The bicycle transformed society faster and more effectively than almost any other invention in human history. Now, with the addition of cargo bikes, new options open up. Sustainability can be a lot more fun than we ever thought possible.
Weather permitting, there will be a short cruiser ride (bring your cargo bike if you have one) at 4:30 p.m.
Movie (family friendly) at 6:30; cargo bike demo and display from 4–6 at corner of Roberson and Main.
Free admission, $5.00 donation at the door suggested
