Distortions, CRHS International Baccalaureate Art Show featuring Barclay Arnold

February 18 - March 15
Free

The first of the two shows features work by Cedar Ridge High School senior Barclay Arnold. The show runs through Sunday, March 15, with an opening reception on Friday, February 20, from 6 to 7:30 pm. The opening reception is open to the general public. You will have a chance to meet Barclay, see and discuss his artwork, and learn about this vibrant art program.

Barclay says about his show, titled Distortion ” My work intends to explore identity through self-portraits, using blurred/altered figures, creating introspection, and allowing for ambiguity. These distorted images help represent how our view of ourselves or other people’s views of us is changing and not concrete.

“Other works use a similar warping effect including those depicting objects or nature, but have a separate intention, attempting to bring attention to everyday things, utilizing warping or distortion to accentuate their features and highlight their beauty. ”

Please come out to support the Cedar Ridge senior art students and our public schools!
