Cosmic Rays Film Festival: Program 5 – Near Nowhere

The COSMIC RAYS FILM FESTIVAL is an annual celebration of short films that expand our idea of what film is and what it can be.

The Festival presents several programs of short films made by filmmakers from North Carolina and around the world that are formally inventive; speak with a personal voice; and are inspired by the possibilities of film as art. This program is supported by the Orange County Arts Commission and the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.

Program 5 is Near Nowhere. Movies about the movies inside the movies. The roles we play, the scenes we steal. Stand-ins, stars, and stunt doubles. Opposition politicians disguised as commercial photographers, aviators cast as ventriloquist dummies, and cherry pie playing itself.
