Join other art lovers for a captivating evening of art, music and film to support the 2024 release of “Minnie Evans: Draw or Die” a feature documentary honoring self-taught visionary, African-American artist Minnie Evans. Evans lived (1892-1987) in Wilmington NC where she mastered her brilliant technique and symmetrical compositions while working in the tiny gatehouse at Airlie Gardens. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres by the Food Fairy, wine (or beer,) live music with violinist Jennifer Curtis & West African kora player Diali Cissokho, performance by soprano Marva Robinson, exclusive exhibit of Minnie Evans art from Christian Daniel’s collection, documentary preview with NC Director Linda Royal and a live auction of two original drawings by Evans.
