Actors Improv: Funk of Your Soul

The South’s longest-running improvisational group begins its 40th -anniversary season Oct. 14 at The ArtsCenter with Funk of Your Soul and a new name. Known as Transactors since 1983, the company will now be called Actors Improv Theater.
Funk of Your Soul celebrates the dark side of the human psyche and features funky musical accompaniment by the stellar combo of saxophonist Scott Adair, drummer Rob Ladd, organist Grant Osborne, and guitarist and musical director Scott Sawyer. Completely improvised and based on audience suggestions, the show will explore obsessions, compulsions, taboos, regrets, fantasies, and dreams.
