TYAMICA MABRY NAMED 2024 ENO ARTS MILL BIPOC ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

The Orange County Arts Commission (OCAC) and the Orange County Arts Alliance are excited to announce Tyamica Mabry as the 2024 Eno Arts Mill BIPOC Artist in Residence.

Mabry is a self-taught visual artist in Mebane, North Carolina. She discovered her artistic talent only a few years ago, when she attempted to draw cartoon characters and found a hidden gift. Uncovering this ability during her adult years confirmed her belief, “Where there is passion, there is ability.”

Mabry combines her love for teaching and art as she leads painting instruction from elementary age to senior citizens. Her passion reaches far beyond the traditional canvas. She creates custom acrylic paintings and murals, as well as wearable art such as hand painted earrings, tote bags, and t-shirts.

Mabry uses art to uplift and encourage others to embrace their internal beauty and appreciate their surroundings. By living her life to the fullest, she inspires others to do the same.

“We were thrilled not only by Tyamica’s artwork, but her enthusiasm and ideas for ways to fully engage the Eno Arts Mill community. We’re so excited to welcome her to the mill arts family and see the artwork and community connections that come from this experience,” states OCAC director, Katie Murray.

The residency will be throughout the 2024 calendar year and will provide Mabry one year of free, private, studio space, a $500 one-time stipend, promotional support, and a featured exhibit in the Eno Arts Mill Gallery during February, 2025.
