Weave & Spin is not your run-of-the-mill open mic. It’s a safe space for all humans 18+ to share tales of life: from joy to trauma, from hilarity to drama. If you are a poet, storyteller, or musician, bring your truth. Each month will showcase one featured artist followed by an open mic. We particularly invite BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and anyone else who has waited too long to be heard.

Based in Durham, North Carolina, Nathan Kotecki is the author of the YA novels THE SUBURBAN STRANGE and PULL DOWN THE NIGHT and the coming-of-age novel MY LOVE FOR YOU WILL STILL BE STRONG. His poetry has appeared in New Letters. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing (Fiction) from North Carolina State University, and he has been a contributor at the MIddlebury Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference in Vermont.
Morrow Dowdle is the author of the chapbook Hardly (Bottlecap Press, 2024), the forthcoming chapbook Missing Woman (CharlotteLit Press, 2026), and the forthcoming full-length collection Heartsick Requiem (Riot in Your Throat Press, 2026). They are a three-time Pushcart Prize nominee, and their work has been featured in journals such as Rattle, New York Quarterly, Southeast Review, Stonecoast Review, Pedestal Magazine, and others. They work as a freelance editor and are pursuing their creative writing MFA at Spalding University. They live in Durham, NC with their two children.
