Transcending Geometry

OneOneOne is pleased to present an exhibition in its Lobby Gallery, “Transcending Geometry,” featuring Chieko Murasugi, Neil Patterson and Louis Watts. Working in diverse media such as acrylic, charcoal, and colored markers, the three artists employ subjective geometries to create evocative paintings, collages, and drawings. The featured works vary in scale from intimate to large, are pictorially spare or dense, monochromatic or vividly colored, subtle or gestural in their marks. The works are united in their capacity to transcend geometry’s utilitarian origins to speak to questions of perception, memory, and metaphysics.
