2020-21 Arts Grants Recipients Announced


The Orange County Arts Commission (OCAC) is pleased to announce recipients of the 2020-21 Grassroots Arts Program and Artist Project Grants. The OCAC awarded thirty-four grants to eighteen artists and fifteen nonprofit organizations totaling $45,033.

Due to the impact of COVID-19 on local school systems, Grassroots Arts Program Grants for schools were postponed and will open in early November.

  • Chelsea Theater: Operating support
  • Daylight Community Arts Foundation: Operational Support
  • FRANK Gallery: Operational Support
  • Hillsborough Arts Council: Operational Support
  • ISLA: Support for Actividades Extra Escolares
  • North Carolina Arts in Action: NCAIA at Rashkis Elementary School
  • Orange County Historical Museum: Yesah, Journeys of the Occaneechi Lecture Series
  • Puppet Show Incorporated: Folk Tales Around the World
  • Playmakers Repertory Company: Support for Edges of Time
  • Town of Chapel Hill Community Arts & Culture / Chapel Hill/Carrboro NAACP Youth Council: NAACP Youth Council-Designed Art Bus
  • Voices Chapel Hill: Operational support

OCAC Arts Grants are annually funded by the North Carolina Arts Council, a department of the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, and the Orange County Board of County Commissioners.
