SUMMARY:Transactors Improv
DESCRIPTION:Transactors Improv celebrates Valentine’s Day a little late this year with Love Rollercoaster\, a musical about the ups and downs of romantic love. Featuring completely improvised scenes and songs based on audience suggestions\, the show will feature five episodes about the euphoria and despair of amour. \n\n\n\n\n\n“Love shows are a Transactors tradition\,” says company director Greg Hohn. “It’s our favorite subject because the stakes are so high. We’ve even had a real-life marriage proposal take place during one of our performances!” \n\n\n\n\nThe longest-running improv theater in the South has always prided itself on incorporating music into its shows and staged its first full-length musical in 1999. Glenn Mehrbach provides expert piano accompaniment for the cast of Greg Hohn\, Bart Hubbard\, Juliet Kaplan\, Rachel Reyes\, Steve Scott\, and Jane Allen Wilson. Jenn Evans handles lights and sound. \n  \nLearn more about Transactors Improv here: Transactors Improv Company \nTickets $15 Public\, $12 Senior\, $10 Student \n  \nDue to the spread of the Delta Variant starting October 1\, 2021\, The ArtsCenter will be requiring proof of vaccination and masks (as per state-mandate) for anyone who attends our ArtSchool classes and in-person performances. This was not an easy decision to make however as a leading community organization\, The ArtsCenter has a responsibility to the whole community and feel this mandate is the most sensible safety measure.\nThank you \nAll attendees are required to wear a mask or face covering at in-person shows. \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Wild Mind Improv
DESCRIPTION:Wild Mind Improv Show for ALL Ages\nEvent has been postponed to Saturday\, February 5th. \nWe’re back! \nDelicious\, Delightful\, Nutritious entertainment for the kids\, the grands and everyone in between! \n“I can’t think of a show I’ve seen recently that I’ve enjoyed more. My teen-aged son and I were laughing the whole time.” Alan G\, Durham\, NC \n“Amazing\, engaging\, charming\, hilarious entertainment… The only complaint I could possibly have is it was over too soon.” Annabel S\, Asheville\, NC \n  \nNeed something that can equally entertain the whole family? We gotchu. \nQuick\, shortform scenes and games make up the meat of this show\, and don’t worry an (optional) dance break mid way through will help the kids shake out the sillies and help the adults add to their fitbit steps! \nWhether you are flying solo or can’t wait to get the family out of the house after stuffing your faces over the Holidays\, this show is perfect for all ages who are craving some wholesome laughter and inspiration. \nWe’ll take your suggestions and make up scenes on the spot\, fully improvised and highly ridiculous. \nThe cast includes longtime improvisors Jane Allen Wilson\, Juliet Kaplan and Director\, Anoo Tree Brod. \n  \nWe will require all audience members to wear masks and have options set up for social distance seating. We will fill the space to 1/2 occupancy maximum. \nDue to the increase of the Delta Variant and the danger it poses\, we are writing to let you know that starting October 1st\, 2021\, proof of vaccination will be required for all attendees of in-person performances and ArtsCenter students 12+. As a community-based organization\, we believe we have a responsibility to ensure the safety of the students\, staff\, instructors and to anyone who could come in close contact with any member of the ArtsCenter community. \nThis was a difficult decision to make\, however given the risks that the new variant poses to the health of the community\, we believe this organizational mandate is the most sensible measure for the safety of the community. \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Be Here Now Improv: For Teens! (In-Person)
DESCRIPTION:Brod – Saturday\, Oct 23\, 10 am-3 pm (In-Person)\n  \nWith a variety of basic improv games and exercises students will have opportunities to have fun while tapping into their most spontaneous\, imaginative\, and creative selves. Improv provides all kinds of benefits: learning how to deal with anxiety in social or group settings\, how to work (and play!) with others\, and how to tap into your deep wells of creativity. \n  \nThis class is perfect for teens who: \n· Have never taken improv and want to give it a try \n· Have done improv or acting and want to up their game on stage \n· Have thought about public speaking or acting or performing and want to dip their toes in the water \n· Just want to be learn some skills to be more comfortable and confident in social situations \nNo experience necessary for this afternoon of fun\, games and laughter in a no-pressure environment! \n  \nInstructor Bios: \nAnoo Tree Brod is an award-winning actress and speaker\, performing with Transactors Improv Company\, Danny Canoe\, as well as guest roles in other improv companies in the Triangle. In addition to performing on stage and in film\, she teaches improv in various locations throughout the U.S. to corporations\, organizations and individuals who want to enhance leadership and communication skills in creative and unique ways. She recently became an adjunct Professor at UNC’s Kenan Flagler School of Business teaching Applied Improv to Masters of Accounting students. She also produces\, directs and does stand up comedy! Give her a mic and a stage and she’s happy. \nJeff Merron has been a journalist and a professor of Journalism and Mass Communication at Elon and the State University of West Georgia. He has also taught part-time at UNC and the New School. He’s been a serious improviser for six years and has taught improv for the past two years. \n(We will take a 30 minute lunch break at 12:30) \n  \nDue to the spread of the Delta Variant starting October 1\, 2021\, The ArtsCenter will be requiring proof of vaccination and masks (as per state-mandate) for anyone who attends our ArtSchool classes and in-person performances. This was not an easy decision to make however as a leading community organization\, The ArtsCenter has a responsibility to the whole community and feel this mandate is the most sensible safety measure.\nThank you \nIn-person classes offered during the pandemic are conducted at a low maximum capacity and with social distancing measures in place. Masks must be worn at all times. Students are required to show instructors a proof of vaccination before attending in-person classes. Refunds and exchanges are not offered for in-person classes offered during the pandemic. \nAll ArtSchool registrations have a $3 processing fee added upon check-out.  \nArtsCenter members receive 15% off the cost of this course! \n\n\n	Related
