DESCRIPTION:With support from the Orange County Arts Commission\, the Hillsborough Arts Council is hosting an outdoor Poetry Workshop Series. We invite you to spend a sunny afternoon (or three) refining your creative writing and public speaking skills\, inspired by time and place in Hillsborough\, NC\, and guided by professional literary artists.\nJoin esteemed local poets\, sharing a diverse variety of backgrounds\, perspectives\, and styles\, in River Park on Sundays afternoons\, June 11\, 18\, and 25\, 2023 from 1-4pm. Register for the date(s) that work for you\, or bundle them together for a discount.\nNo experience necessary. DESCRIPTION:Hillsborough Arts Council’s Handmade Parade! \nSaturday\, April 30\, 2022\n4 PM in Hillsborough\, NC\nParade Start: Burwell School Historic Site\nParade End: Hillsborough’s River Park \nThis year\, the Hillsborough Arts Council is combining efforts between Last Fridays & the Art Walk; the Handmade Market (previously Art in the Heart of Hillsborough); and the \n\nFriday\, April 29\, 2022\, 6-9 PM – Last Friday & the Art Walk!\nSaturday\, April 30\, 2022\, 12-7 PM – Handmade Market!\nSaturday\, April 30\, 2022\, 4 PM – Handmade Parade!\n\nHANDMADE PARADE is BACK!⁠⁠ \nAfter a 4 year hiatus\, this legendary\, community-fueled spectacle of art\, creativity\, and public theater returns to the streets of Hillsborough. \nThe theme for the 2022 parade is FOUND OBJECT ART.⁠⁠ \n⁠⁠We encourage all community members\, whether you come in costume\, with a paper-bag puppet\, or a giant\, recycled\, Papier-mâché grasshopper\, to craft an addition to this community show and march with us in celebration of art and creativity! \nDuring the March and April occurrences of Last Fridays & the Art Walk\, HAC will host pop-up puppet workshops to inspire visitors and neighbors to engineer and sculpt their own found object puppets.
