SUMMARY:'Oh\, Those Tea Parties!' with Suzanne Adair
DESCRIPTION:‘Oh\, Those Tea Parties’ with Suzanne Adair will be held on Thursday\, March 24\, at 7pm. During the American Revolution\, patriot men wantonly destroyed tea to make a statement to the British. Patriot women also used tea to communicate with the British—but subtly. Suzanne Adair\, author of award-winning mysteries set during the Revolution in North Carolina\, discusses how ladies’ tea parties underscored the ways that women controlled the economy and blindsided the British. This hybrid program will be held both in-person at the Museum (with tea of course!)\, and live-streamed virtually via Zoom. When registering\, choose the ‘virtual’ ticket option to receive the link for the stream. Those attending in person will be asked to wear masks when not drinking tea. To register\, visit www.orangehistorync.org/events. Please contact manager@orangehistorync.org with any queries\, or call 919-732-2201. \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Carolina’s First Permanent Settlement: 1650-1705
DESCRIPTION:The Orange County Historical Museum is honored to virtually host Tom Magnuson for “Carolina’s First Permanent Settlement: 1650-1705”\, Thursday\, May 6\, at 7pm. \nThis event is the second in his four-part series\, “The Networks of Early North Carolina History”. In this series\, Magnuson presents his findings from his thirty years of studying the earliest commercial transportation networks in the Southeast of North America. \nRegistration for this free virtual event is available through our website at www.orangehistorync.org/events. Please contact manager@orangehistorync.org with any queries. \nMagnuson is the founder and CEO of the Trading Path Association (TPA). The TPA is a non-profit organization committed to finding and protecting remnants of the Contact Era in the southeast. It does so by finding the old trade routes of England’s first frontier\, the “backcountry” of the southeast. Prior to founding the TPA\, Magnuson enjoyed an unconventional high-tech career first in the integrated circuit industry and government service\, and later in the software business. \n\n\n	Related
