SUMMARY:Introduction to Monoprinting and Basic Techniques (Online)
DESCRIPTION:*Refunds and exchanges are not offered for online courses. No exceptions\, please.\n  \n Philipps – Mondays\, Wednesdays & Fridays\, 4/13 – 4/24\, 2-4pm (Online Spring 2020)\n  \nMonoprinting is a fun\, freeing medium of producing art images\, that are suitable for both the artist and non-artist. The Instructor will incorporate discussions of the important elements of art (for example\, ‘line’)\, and the principles of art (for example\, rhythm and pattern). A variety of methods used to produce a monotype will be demonstrated\, though students can focus on one type during the class or try them all. \n  \nBecause of the coronavirus\, we don’t have access to my printer as we would with a live class\, and students’ various ways to print at home\, without a printing press. We will print the monotype by hand\, and with paper as a plate\, using every day items (except for paint\, if you don’t have any at home). For this class all students will need is paint\, paper\, and plastic wrap/plastic bags. Nothing more! The last class will focus on embellishments\, which may be necessary to purchase\, but not required. \n  \n\n Introduction to Monotype \n Introduction to supplies\, and making a registration grid \n Exploring Mark Making \n Dark Field Monotype: Subtractive Images and Light Field Monotype: Additive Images \n Drawing with Brayer or Paintbrush \n Trace Monotype:Printing from a drawing \n Introducing Stencils\, Stamping\, and Chin-colle \n Embellishing prints \n Pastels \n Gold leaf \n Watercolor\, Gauche\n\n\nThis class is conducted online!
