DESCRIPTION:”To all viewers but yourself\, what matters is the product: the finished artwork. To you\, and you alone\, what matters is the process.”\n~Art & Fear: Observations on the Perils (and Rewards) of Artmaking\, written by David Bayles and Ted Orland.\n\nA curious sequence of events brought Mary Lorenz to a weeklong paper arts class at Penland School of Craft in the spring of 2016\, and she has been cutting ever since. \nRelieved to find an outlet and delighted to find an audience for unexpressed thoughts and feelings\, Mary’s daily cuttings explore the simplicity and complexity of embodied existence. This is a personal process of insight\, creation\, interaction\, reflection\, integration\, and growth offered to the viewer to inspire their own personal process. The simple and profound act of bearing witness is deeply therapeutic.  Mary believes that art can facilitate internal and external connections\, and foster healing relationships through the creative process. \nMary Lorenz is a somatically trained touch practitioner living and working in Chapel Hill\, NC.
