DESCRIPTION:Artwork from Sydney Lund and Apollo Payne senior International Baccalaureate Art students at Cedar Ridge High School.   \nFrom Sydney: In my art I try to use strange and embellished imagery to communicate the very many different ways life can feel. The process of unearthing my sense of self is painful\, yet beautiful. I often find inspiration in a famous quote from Picasso “Art is a lie that shows us the truth.” \nFrom Apollo: I have been fascinated with the way the layout of a scene can be used to create mood in artworks. I aim to capture the way feelings such as stress and anxiety can be conveyed through locations. These moments hint at deeper stories. As I’ve grown\, my art has expanded to convey these moments in a more fluid\, abstract manner. Through my art\, I am able to take a step back from life’s chaos to appreciate the colorful\, simple beauty of everyday living.  \nFrom Wyatt Blevins:\nMemories have always intrigued me\, how much we are formed by these snippets of reality that we have chosen to protect from the flow of time. DESCRIPTION:The first of three student group shows\, each featuring work from 2 senior Cedar Ridge High School International Baccalaureate Art students. \nFrom Adeline Cummings: In a variety of materials such as acrylic\, mixed media\, oil and pastels\, I create Expressionist and Surrealist artworks to express the heavy emotions people feel. I paint self expression in order to portray my thoughts visually.  \nFrom Cadence Zaccardi: My artwork explores how self perception and the subconscious distorts one’s impression of the physical body.
