Bonus\, students will be exposed to topics we will be deep diving in the RATS 2025 summer camps. \nLEARN: The essentials of drawing and painting\, with a focus on expression \nCREATE: A daily drawing or painting on paper \nMonday: ABSTRACTION\nDo you love patterns and doodling? Each day will have a different focus\, dealing with line\, shape and shading\, patterns\, expression\, and texture used by famous abstract artists\, who were\, in turn\, greatly influenced by child art. \nTuesday: ANIMAL DRAWING\nFocussing on fundamentals\, we’ll be sharpening our pencils and our wits as we bring animals to life with pencils and charcoal. RAWR!! \nWednesday: STILL LIFE\nWhat\, you hear a rustling in the flowers? Must be one of those dang animals we drew yesterday! Oh\, well\, give it a treat and hand it a brush while we slosh around in watercolors\, exploring composition\, color and shadow. \nThursday: PET PORTRAITS\nSince that animal from yesterday who was disrupting our still life studies won’t go away\, we’ll ask him to pose for us. We’ll also bring in photos of our favorite pets and draw them. \nFriday: SELF-PORTRAIT\nSay cheese and smile\, because after a week of these RATS Workshops\, you have become an official RAT. You can also bring and use supplies of your own. \nYou can come for some or all of the time. SUMMARY:Valentines' Day Card Making Drop-in Session
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a fun and relaxing Valentine’s Day card making session! \nWhile there is no instruction\, we will have lots of examples you can follow\, and lots of supplies you can use\, including paints (watercolor\, acrylic)\, alcohol inks\, colored pencils\, micro line pens\, watercolor pencils and crayons\, markers including chalk markers\, specialty papers (patterned collage papers and cardstock\, glitter and metallic cardstock\, pearl papers)\, paper lace\, rubber stamps and ink\, spray inks\, cutting dies and die cutter\, paper punches\, different adhesives.  \nYou can also bring and use your own supplies. \nThis session is suitable for adults and mature teens\, and younger school age students with a supervising adult.  \nPay as you please\, $15 suggested — we recognize that everyone’s supply and time usage is different\, so we just ask that you pay what you think is fair and you can afford. We will have a jar set out for cash and checks\, and a link you can access to pay online by credit card. We have everything from a range of substrates and papers (including specialty and handmade papers) and adhesives\, to paints (acrylic\, watercolor\, and tempera) and paint markers\, chalk markers\, oil and chalk pastels\, watercolor crayons and pencils\, washi tapes\, rubber stamps and inks\, a die cutter with dies and embossing folders\, and different ephemera.  You can also bring and use supplies of your own. \nYou can come for some or all of the time. It is “pay as you please” with $15 as a middling guideline suggestion — we recognize everyone’s usage is different. \nNo registration required at this time. All mediums welcome.
