DESCRIPTION:Together\, we make light through darkness\, no matter how dark it gets! \nGet ready to gather by lantern light in Hillsborough\, NC\, on Saturday\, December 21\, 2024\, from 5-8 PM to brighten the darkest night of the year with creativity and community. \nOn November 1\, 2024:\n-Tickets to attend this year’s Solstice Lantern Walk & Market go live at www.hillsboroughartscouncil.org/solstice!\n-Ticket registration is required to attend this event. Registration is free\, but there is a suggested donation of $5-10 per person.\n-Lantern Kits go on sale at the HAC Gallery & Gift Shop (available while supplies last)! \nSolstice Lantern Workshops: Want to make your own lantern for Solstice? Hillsborough\, NC) at 4:30 PM on Winter Solstice\, Wednesday\, December 21\, 2022. \nAfter sundown\, we’ll follow a procession along Hillsborough’s River Walk\, lanterns lighting our collective path into warmer\, brighter days ahead. \nWe’re thrilled to announce that\, with generous support from Hillsborough’s Tourism Board\, this year’s Solstice Lantern Walk features a *NEW Solstice Market\, showcasing a select number of local artists\, live music\, hot drinks\, warm food\, and more solstice celebrations to be enjoyed before and after the walk! \nOnce the walk and market come to a close\, we encourage visitors to patronize downtown businesses and tour Homes for the Holidays: A Hillsborough Gingerbread Tradition\, on display in many local shop windows. \nNeed help crafting your lantern before the walk? HAC offers lantern guidelines\, resources\, and workshops via the link below\, and lantern kits are ON SALE NOW in the HAC Gallery & Gift Shop & NCMA Store while supplies last. *Kit proceeds support the Hillsborough Arts Council and future community arts programming for Hillsborough\, NC. \nSolstice Lantern Walk registration is required.
