DESCRIPTION:Melissa Ramirez – Thursdays\, Sep 6- Sep 27\, 8:00pm-9:30pm (In-Person)\n  \n\nBefore you start writing the book of your heart\, it is important to understand some of the core elements in fiction writing. This 4 week course teaches four of those foundational components: Setting\, Dialogue\, Point of View\, and Character Development. \nEach 90 minute class will focus on one of the four elements. The instructor will provide examples\, exercises to practice each element\, and short writing assignments will be given to reinforce learning. \nEach class will incorporate time for students to share their writing (voluntary). \n  \nMasks must be worn at all times. Students are required to show instructors a proof of vaccination before attending in-person classes. What are the different versions of your life stories? Writing is thinking. Memoir writing is a way to think about who you are\, who you’ve been\, and explore different versions of your memories and life.\n\nWhy do we have the desire to write memoirs?\n\n-To preserve family legacy\n-To explore ancestry\n-To understand ourselves and our place in the world\n-To share our stories\n-To gain insight\n-To heal\n\nLife is busy. This course will allow you time to slow down\, reflect\, and disentangle yourself from your busy life.
