DESCRIPTION:“Rise Up: Voices United in Song” is a collaborative virtual concert featuring three North Carolina women’s choruses: The Charlotteans of UNC Charlotte\, Meredith College Choirs\, and Women’s Voices Chorus of Chapel Hill. Join conductors Ginger Wyrick\, Shannon Gravelle\, and Laura Sam and their singers in this unique webinar performance. The evening will include video performances from each ensemble and discussion on how we have cultivated singing in a time of physical separation. The program will conclude with a joint performance of “Rise and Stand” from the Justice Choir Songbook\, a recent collection meant for public use at rallies\, marches\, and educational programs. Franklin St.\, Chapel Hill\, NC. The concert includes 12 compositions in English\,  written largely  by contemporary women composers including Julia Klatt Singer\, Carol Barnett\, Gwen McLeod Hall\, Andea Ramsey\, `Sean Ivory\, and Elizabeth Alexander\, all of whom are calling for peace\, unity\, and hope.
