SUMMARY:Ralph Peterson
DESCRIPTION:Drummer and bandleader Ralph Peterson has been a force on the jazz scene since the 1980’s\, when his work with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers and the Blue Note Records Out Of The Blue project helped define the Young Lions sound of the era. His new jazz super group “Aggregate Prime” features an all-star lineup of some of today’s most exciting stylists\, including guitarist Mark Whitfield\, saxophonist / flutist Gary Thomas\, bassist Kenny Davis\, and rising star pianist Davis Whitfield. Their debut album Dream Deferred works at the frontier of contemporary jazz\, updating the social justice works of musicians like Charles Mingus and Max Roach for a new generation. \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Rio Mira
DESCRIPTION:Marimba\, percussion\, and vocals dominate the compelling sound of world-music super group Rio Mira\, which brings to life the cultural heritage of people of African descent in the Colombian South Pacific region and Esmeraldas Province of Ecuador. In reworking and revitalizing this tradition\, they create a mesmerizing performance that is both contemporary and unique\, moving from call-and response vocal refrains to densely melodic dance numbers. Their most recent album\, Marimba Del Pacifico\, is comprised of five songs each from Colombia and Ecuador\, demonstrating the “bi-national” nature of the project as well as the diversity of the cultural heritage they represent. \n\n\n	Related
