DESCRIPTION:An informal drop in session – you can come for some or all of the time — dedicated to gel printing. DESCRIPTION:Painted Layers Postcards” is a project from Sarah’s book: “Share Your Joy: Mixed Media Shareable Art.” Working in layers\, using several different media and techniques you’ll create a set of four\, one-of-a-kind\, mixed media postcards. \nThe simple layering process makes creating playful\, intuitive\, and fun\, and the results are interesting\, colorful\, and often surprising! \nWe will create on an 8.5 x 11 inch substrate that is then cut into postcard-sized pieces. It’s kind of magical what can happen when you cut that larger piece apart! Beautiful\, unintentional compositions; little hints of a particular color; a splatter off-center in the corner that catches your eye; part of something bigger that is now on another card that has you guessing what it might have been…mysteries and wonder. These moments hint at deeper stories. As I’ve grown\, my art has expanded to convey these moments in a more fluid\, abstract manner. Through my art\, I am able to take a step back from life’s chaos to appreciate the colorful\, simple beauty of everyday living.  \nFrom Wyatt Blevins:\nMemories have always intrigued me\, how much we are formed by these snippets of reality that we have chosen to protect from the flow of time. My work is an exploration of some of these memories\, especially how these memories are intertwined with my emotions.
