DESCRIPTION:The first of three student group shows\, each featuring work from 2 senior Cedar Ridge High School International Baccalaureate Art students. \nFrom Adeline Cummings: In a variety of materials such as acrylic\, mixed media\, oil and pastels\, I create Expressionist and Surrealist artworks to express the heavy emotions people feel. I paint self expression in order to portray my thoughts visually.  \nFrom Cadence Zaccardi: My artwork explores how self perception and the subconscious distorts one’s impression of the physical body. Each day will have a different focus\, dealing with line\, shape and shading\, patterns\, expression\, and texture used by famous abstract artists\, who were\, in turn\, greatly influenced by child art. \nTuesday: ANIMAL DRAWING\nFocussing on fundamentals\, we’ll be sharpening our pencils and our wits as we bring animals to life with pencils and charcoal. RAWR!! \nWednesday: STILL LIFE\nWhat\, you hear a rustling in the flowers? Must be one of those dang animals we drew yesterday! Oh\, well\, give it a treat and hand it a brush while we slosh around in watercolors\, exploring composition\, color and shadow. \nThursday: PET PORTRAITS\nSince that animal from yesterday who was disrupting our still life studies won’t go away\, we’ll ask him to pose for us. SUMMARY:Holiday Card Making Drop In Studio
DESCRIPTION:Find your holiday spirit while making cards for friends and family in a relaxed\, friendly setting! \nWe will have lots and lots of card making supplies\, from card blanks with matching envelopes\, to stamps\, collage papers\, paints\, inks\, watercolor pencils and crayons\, markers\, microline pens\, adhesive and flaked foils\, embellishments\, embossing folders\, holiday die cuts\, ribbons\, beads\, adhesive jewels\, and washi tapes.  \nWhile this is not an instructor-led workshop\, we will have examples of different cards you can make\, and a few mini lessons on specific cards.  \nBecause we know everyone’s time and supply usage will be different\, we are doing this session as a “pay as you please” — $15 suggested\,  or if more than 10 cards\, $1.50 per card — and just ask that you pay what you think is fair and you can afford.  \nFor adults and mature teens; younger school-age children are welcome with a supervising adult. No registration required.  Saturday\, November 9\, 10 am – 2 pm.
