DESCRIPTION:ARt Walk on Franklin is a cutting-edge augmented reality experience to highlight local art and generate more foot traffic for downtown businesses. All you have to do is find an Art Walk on Franklin poster on a business window in downtown Chapel Hill and use your phone to scan the black and white logo to reveal a hidden piece of art! \nThis interactive digital art exhibit in downtown Chapel Hill is live from December 12th until January 1st. \nSo how does it work?\n1. Find an Art Walk on Franklin poster (there are posters posted on the windows of 10 businesses.)\n2. Use your phone camera to scan the small QR code on the poster or manually go to artonfranklin.com in your browser\n3. Point your phone at the black and white logo marker on the center of the poster to reveal the hidden piece of art\n4. SUMMARY:The Living Dune
DESCRIPTION:Jockey’s Ridge in Nag’s Head has changed in shape over thousands of years and continues to move incrementally southward to this day\, threatening nearby homes and roads. There have been large scale and costly attempts to stem this natural process\, which highlights the often fraught relationship between human behavior and the “natural” environment.  \nIn photographing Jockey’s Ridge\, Ben Alper and Peter Hoffman sought to heighten the camera’s predisposition toward distortion\, as a means of addressing the kind of intervention present (albeit invisibly) at the site. Whether that manifests through artificial or colored light\, spatial confusion\, performative gestures or the literal or metaphorical depiction of others\, the resulting images foreground photographic decisions that ultimately implicate a human presence in this fragile landscape. \nTheir photographs will be displayed at 140 W. Franklin Street from February 21 – March 22nd.\nExhibit Hours:\nThursdays and Fridays from 4-7 pm\nSaturdays and Sundays from 12-6 pm  \nThe 140 W.
