ORANGE COUNTY, NC – The Orange County Arts Commission (OCAC) announces the 2017 Arts Grants Application Period. Nearly $60,000, funded by the North Carolina Arts Council and Orange County, will fund artist, school and nonprofit arts programs taking place between July 1, 2017, and June 30, 2018. The deadline to apply is Friday, June 2, 2017.
Several changes to the OCAC grants process will take effect with the upcoming cycle, including a shift to a yearly cycle and the consolidation of five prior grants into two primary programs:
- Artist Project Grants aid local artists in developing high-quality arts activities in Orange County.
- Grassroots Arts Program Grants help develop high-quality arts programming in Orange County.
In addition, the OCAC will follow the North Carolina Arts Council Priorities of Funding guidelines and will remove funding limit requests from applications, offering instead a suggested request range.
The commission will host two training sessions for potential applicants to learn more about the application process changes and requirements
