An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, repeating until October 15, 2019
This class will introduce you to the primary elements of short stories, including character, plot, point of view, setting, and dialog. Through writing exercises, readings, and discussion, you will learn how to tell a compelling story with vivid characters and create tension that will keep your readers engaged. You’ll learn the art of messy first drafts and how to use revision to find and shape. By the end of the course, you’ll understand the mechanics of short stories and be able to apply them to your own writing.
No writing experience required. Bring a pen and a notebook (or a laptop if writing by hand is a challenge).
